Recipe - a so much better than a real Twix Twix ;-)

Earlier this week I gave a lecture at Silversquare Stephanie about how real food can boost your energy level at work.

At the end I distributed a little treat for the participants, my so called "so much better than a real Twix Twix" ... Without wanting to brag, this twix is HEAVEN!

At the request of the participants I'll share my recipe in English (don't forget to like my FB-page in return ;-) !)

So here we go:

TOOL

Baking mold 22 x 22 cm (or small baking dish)

INGREDIENTS

For the biscuit

100 g of oat flakes - 30 g of coconut blossom sugar - 45 g of melted coconut oil

1 tsp baking powder - pinch of fleur de sel

For the caramel

200 g medjoul dates - 40 g of melted coconut oil (or real butter if you don't like the taste of coconut) - a splash of water

For the chocolate layer

120 g black chocolate min 70% - 1 tbsp butter - 2 tbsp cream

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Mix the oat flakes in a blender. Add and mix the other ingredients.

Line the baking tin with baking paper and pour the biscuit mix into the mold.

Press well with a spoon so that you really have a thin biscuit.

Put in the oven for 20 minutes, then let it cool down completely and put it in the refrigerator.

The biscuit really has to be cold before putting on the caramel.

Mix the dates, melted coconut oil or melted butter and a dash of water in the blender.

Mix long enough (at least 5 minutes) until you really have a smooth light brown 'caramel'. If necessary, add an extra splash of water to make the caramel a bit smoother.

Spread the caramel over the biscuit in a thin layer and put the baking tin back into the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, melt the chocolate with the butter in a pan on a low heat. Distribute over the (cold!) caramel layer. Put the baking tin again for at least 15 minutes in the refrigerator.

Enjoy it!

PS Although it's healthier than a real Twix, eat with moderation ;-)!
